When I was diagnosed with cancer, I was distraught. But no matter what challenges I faced during that time, Young Lives VS Cancer (CLIC Sargent at the time) would help me brave through it all. They referred me to several charities (Including Make-A-Wish) that further helped me keep my morale in my cancer treatment. After my treatment had finished, I was contacted by Young Lives VS Cancer about participating in their 2021 Childhood cancer awareness month campaign. To help spread awarness of Young Lives VS Cancer, I have appeared in various different print publications including the Metro, as well as appearing on BBC Local Radio. I found this opportunity invaluable as it was my first endeavor in public fundraising that reached a large audience.
